Ždrelac is located on island Pašman which is a part of the archipelago of Zadar. This small town was built around the church of Saint Luka. It is named after the small passage named Ždril. It belongs to the Zadar district. According to the population census in 2001. the village has only 245 inhabitants. It is connected with other towns with the ferry. Of great importance is the bridge which connects the islands Pašman and Ugljan in the nearby Kornati Archipelago. This small town is ideal for sailors, swimmers, and many of the fans of the various water sports. The most important economic sector is agriculture, viticulture, olive cultivation, fishing and tourism. It is located on the highway, and what particularly attracts are very long walks, driving on cycling paths with beautiful scenery. The church of St. Luka, Patron of the city must be highlighted. This church is also the main cathedral in Ždrelac. For the first time, the name Ždrelac was mentioned in 1397., and in the year 1...446. it was mentioned as the northernmost part of the Banj. In 1555. it was named with its original name "Ždrelac di Bagno". Very clean water, fresh air, and indented coastline with sandy beaches make this settlement a perfect vacation spot for families. The accommodation is offered in many private apartments and houses, and I am sure you will also love the hospitality of the local people. In the evening you can relax in the restaurant which offers many Dalmatian specialties and wines. If you want to party until late in the night visit the nearby cafes and bars. Many foreign tourists come here in order to relax their body and spirit away from the crowds. It should be mentioned, however, that Ždrelac is still newland or "Tera incognita, but it deserves to be carefully explored.
