Jadranovo - the place for a real holiday
Jadranovois the town in the north of Adria located only 9 km away of Crikvenica. Jadranovo is part of the Kvarner bay second leading tourist region of Croatia. It dates to 6500-4000 BC . Evidences can be found in whole area . In 1426 was Jadranovo still named Sveti Jakov. In the early 20. Century it is a place of fishermen and stonemasons.In 1935 the first touristscame, since then is Jadranovo a tourist destination. In 1954 a referendum was held, in which the name of the city of Sveti Jakov changeson Jadranovo . On 25. July is celebrated day of the holy Jakov. In the city is situated the Church of St. Jakov which was built in the early 19 century . There is also a picture made of wood which was carved more than 350 years ago. A Mediterranean climate and continental climate are mixed here, the summers are clear, dry, hot, and the winters are mild, cloudy and rainy. The average temperature in the summer is at 23 °C in June... and 27 °C in August. You can reach Jadranovo by road, sea or air. Tourism is the main industry in Jadranovo. The city has no hotel, but offers accommodation in apartments and modern rooms for about three thousand guests. Many restaurants, pastry shops, pizzerias and bars are offered to the tourists. The inhabitants are welcoming and the catering is great, because in addition to the classic dishes they offer homemade foodprepared in healthy Mediterranean manner. Jadranovo offers a quiet holiday, crystal clear sea, untouched nature, pine forests, beaches and secluded coves. In the hot days you can hike and recreat in forest paths. The beach and promenade are also very nice. In Lokvišća bay you can find a natural phenomenon, medical mud which is used to alleviate the rheumatic pains. Rich cultural program is provided in the summer, the traditional fishermen's festivals, exhibitions, concerts and performances. According to the census of 2011. has Jadranovo1224 inhabitants and belongs administratively to the cityof Crikvenica.
