Šolta - Nečujam

Necujam is located in a bay on the island of Solta , and before the recent war it was the most famous place in the Adriatic. The history of this area has been established since the reign of Emperor Diocletian. In the waters of the bay Piškera were located the remains of his ponds , and nearby were found many artifacts such as graves and silver coins of emperors Claudius and Valens . In the 14th century, at this bay were made salt pans , and of them is today left only curative mud . In Necujam lived at the beginning of the 16th century the father of Croatian literature Marko Marulić . After his death from Hvar came Peter Hektorović which describes Marulić in his book „Ribanje i ribarsko prigovaranje“. At 29 June is the day of the patron Sv. Petar. The place has 80 residents , while that number increases during the summer months . The bay Necujam has 8 parts : Bok Supetra, Šumpjivina, Podkamenica, Supetar, Piškera, Tiha, Maslinica i Bok od Rata. Well known and old village apart...
