Šolta - Maslinica

Maslinica is a place which is located on the west coast of the island of Solta. It was founded back in 1703. as the aristocratic family Marchi asked a Venetian ruler for approval to establish a new settlement and build a castle that had towers to defend against enemy pirates . When construction was finished, in 1708th, the real development of this place began. However , Maslinica needed much time to be able to show her natural beauty . At the beginning of the 21st century castle Marchi had a very important role because it was renewed and became hotel of heritage category . This little place has become a real tourist paradise , which each year features a number of guests and foreign tourists. It has its seven islands: Balkun, Grmej, Rudula, Stipanska, Saskinja, Polebrnja i Hrid Kamičić and their beauty delight guests.
