Preko - Ugljan

Preko is a town and harbor on the island of Ugljan in the Zadar district and it has a population of 1278 inhabitants.  Preko is the administrative center of the island of Ugljan, with the typical Dalmatian architecture and numerous villas of the patrician families. You feel the best Mediterranean atmosphere by a stroll along the promenade Lungomare or on one of the terraces overlooking Zadar Channel.  Preko is the best starting point for a trip to Sveti Mihovil (265 m above sea level), which is reached by three kilometers long asphalt road. Of the fortress are more than 200 islands of the Zadar archipelago and Kornati National Park visible. Located only 80 meters from Preko the is idyllic islet Galevac (Školjić), covered with lush Mediterranean vegetation in which is hidden a Franciscan monastery from the 15th Century.
