Pašman

Pašman is an island on the Croatian Adriatic coast south of Zadar. With a surface area of 60 square kilometers, and 70 kilometers indented coast it is one of the  major Croatian islands. It is located in Zadar archipelago between Zadar and Biograd . It has been inhabited since the Roman era, and the first time mentioned in 1067 . by the king Petar Kresimir IV as "Postimana" the Mediterranean climate has developed a rich flora and fauna. Many types of medical and aromatic herbs grow here and the underwater hides several species of mussels and fish of the Croatian Adriatic coast. The majority of the 2044 residents is working in the fisheries, agriculture and recently in tourism. The island is connected with mainland by ferry Zadar - Preko.  A further one travels from Biograd to Tkon on Pasman .
