History of Njivica begins in the time of the ancient world. The first written documents of Njivice dates in 14. Century. The long tradition and the life of the inhabitants of the area has changed over the centuries. People who once lived in this part of the island were mostly preoccupied in the agriculture and fishing. That tradition has continued to the present. Today the locals are busy in the fisheries and agriculture and to a small part of animal husbandry.
