Korcula, often called the pearl of medieval architecture, is located in the Republic of Croatia, and the town has five villages. These are: Čara, Žrnovo, Račišće, Pupnat i grad Korčula. The town itself is surrounded by walls that emphasize the protective role of Korcula.
