Novo Selo is located between Selci and Povlja, and was formed by 40 families from Poljica. Stone sculptures of renowned and experienced sculptor Francis Antonijevic are located at the entrance of the village. This small village is famous for stone masonry, herbs and oil processing. Cold Pressed Oil of this region is of very high quality and it is awarded each year. Known is the parish church Gospe od Navještenja, built in the neo-romanesque style in 1984. Year. In the immediate vicinity you will find prehistoric ruins of Gradišće. Here there are many old shelters which are still unexplored as well as a village called Podgradišće which was affected and destroyed by the plague in the 16. Century. The parish church is named navještenja blažene Djevice Marije and the patron saint is Sveti Ante opat i pustinjak. The statue of Antun opat is located in this church, it is very old and dates from the year 1855. Altarpieces of Sveti Josip with the Infant Jesus adorn the interior and stat...ues of the Church of the Sacred Heart and St Anthony of Padua and new images from various saints enrich this church. The Church of Sveti Nikola was built in 1903 at the cemetery of Novo Selo. Well known is also the stone cross from 1876. Year. In 1714. the municipality has become independent for the first time. Then in 1849. it was merged with Selca , but in the year 1907. It became again independent. The views from this small village extends up to the mountain Biokovo and to the eastern part of the Brac channel. In 2011. Novo Selo had only 153 locals. Novo Selo is only 4 km away from Brac and offers peace and quiet away from the eyes of the public. Many foreign but also the local tourists come here.
