In the western part of the island of Brac, lies the small village Milna, located in the underside of Bracs harbor it is protected from the wind. Chakavian dialect is spoken in the village. Municipality Milna is the largest city on the west coast of the island Brač. It is situated in a deep bay overlooking the Split door. Milna is connected with the city Split with the catamaran and ferry terminal in Supetar lies only 20 kilometers away. Language of Milina belongs to chakavian dialect, in spite of the many influences from all sides is still spoken since the ancient world because it has been preserved and well maintained. Milna is one of three locations on the island of Brac where chakavian dialect dominates.
