Komarna is located in southern Dalmatia, between Split and Dubrovnik near Klek. The villagers are mostly engaged in fishing and agriculture, and more recently, tourism. It is 7 km away from the Neretva River, and has good connections to other cities and islands. Tourists often opt for a photo safari on the river Neretva and ride in the Neretva vessel. It has rich offer for tourists, such as a day trip to Korcula, Mljet, Peljesac and the cities of Split and Dubrovnik. Especially interesting is a visit to Archeological museum Narona and Arboretum in Trsteno. The most famous are the pebble beaches Villa Dorida, beach Uvala and beach Komarna which with their beauty attract new tourists each year. At these beaches, tourists can enjoy swimming, beach volleyball, and the older ones can visit Metkovic that offers ornithological collection with 340 stuffed birds that once lived in the valley of the river Neretva. In addition to these attractions,also very well attended are the walls of Ston, wh...ose building began in the 14th century, and which were the largest urban center of then Europe. The rich cuisine is offered in the restaurant "Villa Bili" and the tavern Komarna, and if you decide to visit Klek you definitely need to visit the restaurant Adriatic and tavern Kula. Accommodation is offered in modern villas and many private homes, which are offering beautiful views of the green countryside and crystal clear waters. In the center is situated a shop where tourists can buy the basic stuff for a holiday. If you want to go to great shopping you can visit Metković, Opuzen or Neum which is from Komarna only 5 kilometers away. In addition to the many activities on the beach, in Komarna you can rent a motor boat, bike or car. 3 miles south of Komarna is located already mentioned Klek, which offers more tourist activities and facilities such as cafes and bars that are open until the early morning hours and provide good entertainment throughout the night to foreign and domestic tourists.
