Drače is located in Dubrovnik Neretva County, belonging to the municipality of Janjina on the island Pelješac. It is located on the northeast coast, and in this municipality are also located places like Osoblje, Popove luke i Putniković. According to the census, this place has about 70 residents, who are mostly engaged in fishing and agriculture. Tourism has increasingly developed in recent years which is evidenced by the many privately owned new built apartments. Particularly noteworthy are beautiful bays like Blaževo, Brijest i Stinjavac, and beautiful sandy beaches attract foreign tourists. Drače has approximately 2500 hours of sunshine a year, and it is protected from most winds. Transport connections to other cities are very good, whether it be by road, ferry or air transport. This small fishing village is characterized by archipelago comprising of 13 islands with warm sea, which is very clear and clean. In the near of Drače is situated Ston which is also called "City of Sal...t". This place is perfect for tourists with young children, and many lovers of gastronomy can visit Porat restaurant and tavern Dalmatian house. Offered are many famous Dalmatian dishes and wines, such as fish dishes, cheese and ham, and as for the nightlife there are many bars and night clubs that are open until the early morning hours. The beaches are very diverse, and tourists can find everything they need and can have fun playing beach volleyball, diving, swimming and sunbathing. For those sporting spirits, at the beaches can be found the activities such as sailing, jet-skis, kayaks and other attractive offers. Apart from Drače Peljesac has three other municipalities, Ston, Trpanj and Orebic and many tourists can visit these areas. Also offered are day trips from Drače to Korcula, Mljet, Dubrovnik and the famous shrine of Medjugorje. In the past, inhabitants of this place were mainly engaged in the production of aromatic and medicinal plants, but now it is neglected because residents are more devoted to tourism.
