Vrsi is a municipality in the north-western part of Northern Dalmatia. It is located 5 km north-east of the city Nin away. Vrsi are named according to their position, at the top. Hence the name Vrsi is plural from above. A resident of Vrsi means Vršanac or Vršanka if it is female person. According to the census of 2011. there lived 2053 inhabitants. Vrsi was founded in the Middle Ages. In the written sources it was mentioned for the first time in the 1387., followed by the 1488. and later, but it was destroyed in the Venetian-Turkish wars in 16th and 17th century. After the withdrawal of the Turkish conquerors is the place has been rebuilt. Since 2006. is Vrsi municipality to which also belongs settlement Poljica. Tourist activities in Vrsi are very well developed. Here you can find apartments, cafes, night clubs and the like. In Vrsi is located primary school "Peter Zoranić“, pre-school and kindergarten "Vrška Vila" . Of cultural heritage there is KUD Sveti Mihovil which was fo...unded on 04.21.2005 . and consists of folklore groups, musical and literary societies, groups for sailors games, folkways and KUD Sveti Lovre. The comunity Vrsi includes two islands :Mišjak and Zečevo. Zečevo has its own uniqueness that the flood disconnects its connection with the mainland which is known as Prizda. The flood makes it to island. In addition to the old town there are Vrsi - Mulo and Vrsi – Zukve to be highlighted. Their location on the coast makes them to become oases of tourism for years. Part of the Vrsi- Mulo is located on the coastline of the bay of Nin.
