Seline, a place of proven simplicity is located at spacious plain between the beautiful beaches and breathtaking gorge Mala Paklenica. Seline is a place in the municipality Starigrad in Zadar district. It has a population of 455 inhabitants. City Church has been recently restored and is now prodly standing on the main square Zukve. The Church is popularly known as the Church of the Sacred Heart . Next to Seline is located the old town Jabukovac where after the legend, 800 years ago a Croatian converted to Islam under the name Jusuf. Jusuf went into the fight and died while his wife bare a child. That was the beginning of the Jusuf family which remained loyal to the Catholic faith. Up to 200 years ago lived all the inhabitants of the Seline in Jabukovac, because it was far from the sea so that the pirates can not see the light of their fire and were thus more secure. The population is mainly working in agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries and tourism.
Long Beach, clear water, shad...e, wide range of healthy foods, dried figs, brandy, wine, oil, cheese, honey, fish and seafood make Seline to a pleasant place to rest. Hikers and mountain lovers can enjoy in the nearby national park, or visit old hamlets at the foot of the hill, Bucici, Jukici, Jurline whichwere called after the name of the inhabitants. Traditional culture and hospitality are still cherished and cared for. In the vicinity of Seline there are many natural and cultural attractions such as: Večka Kula, medieval fortress on the coast between Stari Grad and Selina. The tower dates from the time of the defense against the Turks, and according to folk legend it was a royal palace of King Pasoglav.
Paklarić is a medieval fortress located on the eastern side of the entrance to Velika Paklenica-gorgr at an altitude of 121 meters. Church of St. Petar is a medieval building that is located next to the main road between Stari Grad and Selin. The church was built in two phases: the medieval and late medieval. Ethno house Marasovići is one of the examples of restored traditional buildings. It is located at the entrance to the national park Paklenica in the old village Marasovići.
