Sali

Sali is the largest town on the island of Dug otok and seat of the municipality. It is located in the southern part of the largest islands of the Zadar archipelago in a large bay Soliscica. Sali was named after old salines. It is divided into two areas, Bura and Japar. More than 1000 years is fishery in Sali old. In 1905. in Sali was founded fishery factory called Mardešić. In addition to the fisheries, agriculture sector is also very well developed, especially olive cultivation. In the last 50 years began the area of the Sali to develop tourism. We should also mention shipyard in Sascica. Much money has been invested in the reconstruction of the port and it is now ready to receive eighty sailing boats and motor boats.
