Raslina

On the west coast of Lake Prokljan in Šibenik-Knin district is located a place Raslina dedicated to the Saint Mihovil, proud of its seafood specialties and wines  First historical marks of this place, were in 1298, when the diocese of Šibenik was founded. In the 15. Century here was built the church of St. Mihovil, and in the 16. Century a fortress for the defense against the Turks whose remnants today are no longer visible. One of the most important factors that determine the life in Raslina is Prokljan lake that is located in the lower reaches of the river Krka. It is connected with the sea through a channel which ends in the port of Sibenik. The lake is in particular interesting due to the mixing of saline water in the lower layers and fresh water on the surface.
