Maslenica

Maslenica is a place in Zadar district. It is surrounded by the Novigrad sea, river Zrmanja and Velebit Mountain. It has an excellent geographical location. Nearby are national parks, such as Paklenica, Kornati and Plitvice lakes. West of Maslenica is located Maslenički most which is important traffic junction of the Dalmatia with the continental Croatia. Built in 1961 it has a great importance for the population. Maslenica became in 1985. the important port for the excavation and loading of bauxite. During the war, because of the  Serbian aggression Maslenica lost much. In 1991. the Maslenička bridge was destroyed and thus the connections to other areas has been interrupted. But finally, Maslenica started to recover and in 2005 the bridge was built again. First settlement of the Maslenica dates to 1780. Year. The place is known for Borra and it offers many adventure sports such as bungee jumping and rafting on the Zrmanja.
