Lukoran is a place  in the central part of the north coast of the island of Ugljan, which consists of the Veliki Lukoran and Mali Lukoran with Sutomišćica bay. The bays are very well protected from the winds with the exception of the strong Mistral Tramontana. With the mainland is Lukobran connected by ferry lines Zadar - Preko. The place is full of beaches and pine forests. In the past it was a resort of Zadars noble families. The most famous was the summer residence of the family de Ponte from the 17. Century.
