Rovinj - a city with beautiful beaches and a wide variety of options Town of Rovinj is located on the western coast of the Istria. It consists of the two cities: Rovinj (Rovigno italian ) and Rovinj Selo ( Italian  Villa di Rovigno ). City is bordered by the municipalities Bale, Kanfanar , Sv. Lovreč und Vrsar. The Mediterranean climate brings an average temperatur of 16 degrees C on an annual basis, which makes this city to one of the hottest tourist destinations in both Istria and along the Adriatic coast .. The coastal zone is surrounded by not less than 22 small islands. The islands Sv. Andrija und Sv. Katarina are the two biggest. The town has less than 15,000 inhabitants, most of them are Croats. It is surrounded by the wall almost a full kilometer long, and its height in some places is more than three meters. It was built from stone blocks, some with a weight of over one tonne. The interior walls are built from the monumental stone. The interior is covered with small stones. There are two entrances to the village, one in the west and one in the north. The village is divided into three parts.  Wealthy families lived here. The proof are the remnants of a large residential building from stone and wood. Outside the Walls of the necropolis are situated upper and lower town.
