The most picturesque city - Oprtalj South of the Istrian peninsula is reserved for the small and picturesque town Oprtalj. Oprtalj is located near Medulin. It is located on a hill and that is why it is known as the most picturesque city. In the distant past this city was a kind of fortress. Due to its location and accessibility it was surrounded by walls which have been used for defense against enemies.
