Center of the Lupoglavska gospoštija On the north-eastern part of the Istrian peninsula, on the slopes of Ćićarija, situated underneath Ucka lies the small city Lupoglav. In order to learn better the history of the area, the locals will tell you a story about Mehrenfels Castle which was a center of the nobility of Lupoglav or as they call it Lupoglavs's gospoštija. The castle was situated on a hill, just a little more than a kilometer away from the city. The castle was built in the seventeenth century. District Lupoglav is a place rich in history and beauty.
