Sisak

Sisak is located in the Sisak Moslavina County, nad according to the census of 2011. this city has 61,497 inhabitants. It is famous for its largest refinery in Croatia, and has the third largest factory that deals with food called Mlin. Throughout history it has often changed its name, in the early Middle Ages it was called Siscium, and then come the various names like: Sissek, Sciteck, Zysek, Zitech, and finally appears name Sziszak and Sisak. Yet apparently Sisak belongs to the oldest settlements of the central Croatian. Many archaeological excavations indicate that the inhabitants of this area lived there since prehistoric times. In the 4th century before Christ came tribe of Celts, which were mixed with Illyrians. Then Sisak gets name Segestica. It was the largest city of the western part of the Pannonian Basin.
