Samobor is located on the eastern part of the Samobor mountains, and to the east is it bordered by the River Sava. This is one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in Croatia, and it is believed that the area has about 37,500 inhabitants, of whom 16,000 reside in the city Samobor. The origin of the name of the town is not known yet, but many Croatists believe that the word itself comes from the Slavic languages. This area includes the town of Samobor and 77 villages and towns. Samobor is 16 th largest city in Croatia, and the density is about 151 inhabitants per square kilometer. Foreign Tourists often visit this wonderful city, which has protected natural objects such as park Žumberak. It is interesting that within the Samobor mountains there are approximately 200 kilometers of marked mountain trails which are ideal for tourists sporting spirits. The climate is moderately continental, with warm summers and fresh winters. Green nature and deciduous forests allow many animals in ...the mountains, and endemic species like holly are very interesting. It is believed that Samobor has a rich history, and information about the first traces of man can be found in numerous writings. The average summer temperature is 20 degrees, and winter around 1 degree. The hottest month is July and the coldest is January. Particularly interesting is the fact that over the years the city has an average of only 53 clear day. Tourists can visit the church of Sv. Anastasia from the 17th-century, Franciscan monastery from the ancient 18th century. Tourist Board of Samobor was first established in 1994th, especially noteworthy is the carnival which is celebrated in the month of February. This is also a traditional event that is a symbol of the city's identity. Sv. Ana is patroness of the city. In addition to Carnival in Samobor are held other events such as the Samobor Music Festival, which over 30 years invites numerous performers and guests to socialize and party. As the inevitable autumn ceremony and celebration we have to emphasize Kestenijada and celebration of Martinje, where with a multitude of autumn fruits and grape must that becomes wine locals entertain until the early morning hours.
