Prelog is located in Medjimurje County, and consists of eight villages. It is from the city Cakovec 15 kilometers away and according to the census in 2001., the town had 7,781 inhabitants. The city has been inhabited since the Neolithic period, and for the first time its name is mentioned in 1264th. During the 16th century, it was considered to be the largest populated area between the rivers Drava and Mura, and soon comes to building of a large silk factory and silkworm breeding.
