Ludbreg

Ludbreg is located in Varazdin County and consists of 13 villages. According to census in 2001. Ludbreg had 8,435 inhabitants. Greatest attraction of the city is a baroque castle Batthyanny, and in it is located workshop of Croatian Conservation Institute. It is actually a renewed castle of Count Batthyány Ludvik from the 18th century. Also worth mentioning is the parish church Presvetog Trojstva, which is the most important building in the city Ludbreg. The church was first mentioned back in 1334th year, and it was built in the Baroque period. From the sacral buildings in Ludbreg is situated a small Baroque chapel of Žalosna Gospa, built in 1765th along the river Bednja. In recent times was built shrine Predragocijene krvi Isusove. The shrine was built to fulfill the ancient covenant from 1739th, and consists of a votive chapel of the Croatian Parliament and the Stations of the Cross, making an exhibition of mosaics of Murano glass outdoors.
