Krapina is the capital of Krapina Zagorje County and is with its 23 villages located in the northwestern part of Croatia. It covers an area of 47.53 square kilometers and according to the census in 2001. it was inhabited by 12,950 people. It is located along the river Krapinčica by which it got its name. Krapina was first mentioned in 1193. but there is data that Krapina has been established in the Middle Ages. Most of the population is now engaged in construction, textile and manufacturing of electrical installation from plastics materials. Tourists often visit church Sv.
