Jastrebarsko is located in Zagreb County, halfway between Zagreb and Karlovac. This city is called Jaska, and the total population according to the 2001 census amounts to 16,689 inhabitants. It consists of 60 urban settlements and extends to 229 square kilometers. For the first time was Jastrebarsko mentioned in the 13th century, and got coat of arms in a 1257th which is hawk of the natural color. Residents of the city are engaged in the lumber industry, viticulture, winemaking, fishing and agriculture as well as tourism. From ancient times this place has developing agriculture but in the 20th century it comes to industrialization and development of companies. Wood industry is the most important because it employs the most people, and also important is the bottler of spring water Jana, and Juicy Juice. Bottling water Jamnica which is part of Agrokor should also be mentioned. In 2012th Jastrebarsko won 7th place on the list of the most successful cities because of good promotion for for...eign investors. In the city there is a high school and a primary school Ljubo Babic. The music school Jastrebarsko participated in various national competitions and won a good place. Jastrebarsko boasts with eight churches and 38 chapels and vestries, while in the park Erdody there is even 59 types of trees, which is very well known to foreign tourists. The tourist offer of the town should be mentioned and of particular importance is Plešivička cesta which opened its doors in 2001., and there are offered many brandies from own production and other specialties. The city has excellent transport links as it has access to the highway Zagreb-Rijeka. In the vicinity is located the airport Pleso. Here was born famous poet Drago Gervais who as a child lived in this city, and certainly noteworthy is Branimir Štulić, renowned musician and founder of Azra who attended school in the city.
