Grubišno Polje is located in Bjelovar Bilogora county and includes 24 villages in its composition. According to the census in 2001. the town had 7,523 inhabitants. It is especially important to mention tourism in Grubišno Polje. Grubišno Polje area is characterized by preserved meadows along the river Ilova and Bilogora's rich forests of oak and beech. Beautiful Bilograd area is rich in preserved nature, the diversity of flora and fauna and many rare and protected animals such as white-tailed eagle, white and black storks, beavers, otters and plants like fritillary, the common orchids, Siberian irises and others. During their stay, visitors can enjoy a variety of cultural events, the holders of which are Tourist Board and the Center for Culture and Information Dr. Franjo Tudjman. Excursion site Bara River Ilova, five sport fish ponds and rich forests full of animals invites hikers, nature lovers, anglers and hunters in recreational walking, fishing for carp, catfish, Prussian carp, ...grass carp and so on. Near Grubisno Polje is situated Lovrak center, a cultural memorial corner where you can see live scenography of two of the most famous novels of this children's writer: Pero Kvržica and Train in the snow. Accommodation, good food and drink can be found at Hotel Bilogora from early April to late September. The first traces of human presence in the area of today's Grubisno Polje date back to the Stone Age; in the fields north of the village of Velika Barna and in the woods near the town Obrovi near Grubisno Polje was found a multitude of Stone Age pottery and its parts. The remains from the Bronze Age show that in the village of Kreševine (now part of Velika Barna) at least about 1900th to 1800th BC. Kr. there was greater Eneolithic settlement whose inhabitants belonged to Vučedol culture, but it is not known how long it was there because a more detailed studies have not yet been implemented. In a city Grubišno Polje dominates food industry and therefore it is important to note Zdenka cheese factory of the Great Zdenci whose products are melted cheese, semi-hard cheese, cheese with noble mold and butter.
