Glina

Glina is located in Sisak Moslavina County, and with its 69 villages it is situated in the middle reaches of the river Glina between Zrinska Gora and Pokuplje. According to the census in 2001. in Glina lived 9,868 residents, and most were Croats. For the first time this city is mentioned in the 1284th in the document Capitol, and certainly it should be noted that the Croatian national anthem was composed in this area. In 1848th Josip Jelacic became here Croatian Governor and General. In 1769th here was built a wooden chapel of Sv. Ivan Nepomuk and it belonged to the most beautiful buildings in the area. Josip Jelacic lived here from 1841st to the 1848th, and in that time this city experienced a huge boom. Significant buildings is Generalija, which was the headquarters of the supreme military command of first and second Banal Regiment. Today there is situated a municipal court in Glina.
