Duga Resa is located in Karlovac County and it consists of 29 settlements. According to the census in 2001., the town of Duga Resa had 12,114 residents. The city is exceptionally beautiful area of natural beauty with blue-green beauty, Mrežnica. There is also a hill Vinica with a walk path Tušmer that allows visitors pleasant walks and bike rides along the river and elevations of Vinica. It is especially important to note that the river Mrežnica offers certainly refreshing waterfalls during the summer months and the tourist office in the city offers the Indian canoes for rent to sail the river. Duga Resa is the history was first mentioned in 1380., and its name comes from the word "Resa" that occurs in traditional costumes, and the second derivation of the names occurs in the word "resina" which is a plant that grows in water.
