Daruvar is a city located in Bjelovar Bilogora county and consists of nine villages. According to the last census, the city had 13,243 inhabitants, of which 58 per cent wereCroats, 18 percent were Czechs, 14 percent Serbs and others. The Croats settled in this area after the fall of the Western Roman Empire and founded a village Probatica later Podborje. Four gold, two silver and one bronze award of Croatian National Tourist Board confirmed that the picturesque little town of Daruvar is most ordered Croatian mainland city.
