Stobreč is located on the Adriatic coast in the vicinity of mountain Mosor and river Žrnovnica. The history of this place dates back to antiquity , where there lived Illyrian and Greek residents , who founded the city in the colony because of protection . City changed its name to Stobreč and many rulers are turning to modern industries . But ancient writer Polybius has often pointed out that the Illyrian Delmats ...often devastated Greek cities including Stobreč , and they have occupied this city and the entire eastern part of the Adriatic three centuries after Stobreč was created. Then the Greek rulers lose power , and Salona became a major center of Dalmatia. Stobreč , Greek Epetion became Epetium which had no autonomous power , and since it was located near Salona it became the part of Salon Ager . At that time it gets the name of Ager perfacture where the city gets rulers who governed this small place like urban area. Stobreč at that time had very good transport links, a rich agricultur and port.
