Marina is a tourist resort which is located near the town of Trogir , only 12 kilometers away and 36 kilometers from the city of Split . Port is located in the city center , opposite the fortress , and can accommodate up to 180 boats and yachts. Marina is the perfect combination of sun, sea and stone and it is certainly a place where you can relax your body and soul . The resort offers plenty of recreational activities for tourists and other visitors , so you can learn to sail , dive, fish or be your own captain on a ship that you can rent . It was later expanded with the tower fortress and city wall that surrounded the entire village. Biskum Francis Marcello used Marine tower as a private mansion, and today it is a 4 star hotel. The village was first mentioned in the 9th century under name Bosiljina, and most residents lived in Marina in 1847th year, even 3400 when the population was ruled by Austria, which had well organized urban and rural life of the inhabitants. At the time, Marina recorded the largest growth in trade, agriculture and marine applications, which decreased in all sectors by the arrival of the Venetians in 1420th year. The rich history of Marina was changed by many governments and rulers who have left their traces in architecture, culture and urban life of the inhabitants. Of the most important historical monuments preserved are the door with a coat of arms, Renaissance Tower, the Gothic church of Sv Luke, the church of Sv Ivana and hamlets Marine who have rural monumental significance.
