Lokva Rogoznica is a town located along the main road to Makarska9 kilometers from the town of Omis away. According to the census in 2001. s this beautiful place counted 392 inhabitants.In this quiet village main economy is tourism. Accomodation is offered in a few single-family houses , apartments , hotels, guest houses and several campsites. In 1966th the locals began to move towards the sea, where they built houses on previously uninhabited areas , as stated , the reason for this was the construction of the highway. We should mention that place Lokva Rogoznica is packed with gravel and sandy beaches that are the most suitable for the youngest tourists , but of course the beaches will surely be enjoyable also for those older visitors . Area of Lokva Rogoznica is covered with pine forests which give enough shade. In the neighborhood of private houses and apartments there is a post office , a small grocery store and a restaurant with a real Dalmatian specialties . In the village is the... parish church of the Uznesenja Blažene Djevice Marije, the church of St. . Vida , which dates from the 13th century and is located on the top of Omiška dinars at 639 meters above sea level.
The first traces of human settlement are dating back to ancient 1235th year. In the same year was passed the statute of Rogoznica. In the document it is stated that the seven noble families with their servants, who arrived in this quiet place in the 1230th. It should be noted that during the summer season in this beautiful and peaceful village are taking place the "fishermen nights" that offer a multitude of fun and entertainment.
