Igrane

Igrane is located in the municipality of Podgora 18 kilometers south of the town of Makarska. It is belonging to Split and Dalmatia County . This place is very good transport position ; distance from the island of Hvar is only 40 minutes, it takes 2-3 hours to reach Brac, Korcula and Peljesac. It should be said something about the cultural attractions of this place . The famous is the church of Gospe od Ružarija , whose bell tower watches over the village . The church dates from the 1752nd year . Not far from the bell tower is Zalina tower that was built during the Cretan war , where they led the fight against the Turks . The tower bears name of Zale Antičić. At the cemetery of Igrane were found sarcophagi dating from Roman times which are also the oldest evidences of settlement .
