Central Dalmatia is a top destination for a summer vacation in private accommodation. This region stretches from Riviera Makarska via Split to Trogir and includes two attractive island destinations – Brač and Hvar. Riviera Makarska is famous for its tourism, and especially its private accommodation units: it offers many villas, apartments and rooms to its tourists. Apart from a wide range of accommodation units it offers crystal-clear sea, sand and stone beaches, untouched nature and fantastic night life. Prices are affordable, with numerous cultural happenings and events available during the summer season. Central Dalmatia is linked with other regions via motorway and the Adriatic Highway. The region's only international airport is located near Split, which is additionally linked with Central Croatia via railway. The highest mountain top is Sveti Jure (St. George) at 1762 m on Biokovo, where a nature reserve of the same name is also located. Central Croatia is a typical Mediterranean region with its long warm summers and short mild winters. Seawater temperatures are suitable for swimming from May to October, and the number of sunny days is high, especially on islands. There are many beaches to choose from, and the Adriatic's pretties beach – Bol on Brač – is located in this region. There are many Blue Flag beaches in Central Dalmatia. These flags are signs of high standards and many additional features intended for pure enjoyment in summer pleasures.

Split is located in the centre of Central Dalmatia and represents the focal point of the region. This historic city is under the protection of UNESCO and offers a special atmosphere to everyone willing to discover its beauties. Its history dates back to 295 A.D. and the Roman emperor Diocletian who decided to build his palace right here. Tourists enjoy it even today, as it represents the centre of Split. The city is full of squares: today they are filled with many coffeehouses where you can enjoy your latte and sense the centuries of history surrounding you. Another place in Central Dalmatia under the protection of UNESCO is Trogir. If you are looking to spend your summer

vacation in a historic area surrounded by beautiful nature and fantastic beaches, then Trogir is the right place for you. Although it is most famous for its cathedral, Trogir offers a wide range of tourist attractions for an unforgettable summer on the Adriatic coast: along galleries, museums and exhibitions there are many apartments where you can rest after a day filled with swimming, sunbathing and learning about history and culture. The region's water area encompasses a whole range of islands, but the most important ones are definitely Hvar and Brač. These two Adriatic pearls can easily be reached by ferry from Split. Famous for their lively nightlife, these islands are places of unforgettable memories for many foreign as well as domestic tourists. Nightclubs, cocktail bars and coffeehouses surrounded by magical beaches and historical sites invite you to a summer adventure filled with adrenaline and night-time enjoyment!
