Island Hvar is an island in Northern Dalmatia. It is rich in pine forests and has an extensive road network. This is one of the sunniest islands in Croatia, with very little precipitation, which makes it an attractive tourist destination. Apart from its beautiful nature, indented coastline, and crystal-clear sea, Hvar also has a wide variety of accommodation units at its guests' disposal.
The wide variety of accommodation units ensures that every guest can pick the type of accommodation that best fits their needs. Prices vary: the cheapest overnight stay in an apartment is roughly 60 EUR, while hotel accommodation is much more expensive.
If you decide to spend your vacation in an apartment, be sure to count in the costs of food, restaurant dinners, and the like. The costs of a week-long vacation for a family of four in the cheapest accommodation unit on island Hvar are as follows: one-night stay = 67 EUR, food = roughly 200 HRK per day, ferry = 400 HRK.
All this amounts to circa 8 000 HRK excluding travel costs, which makes Hvar one of the most expensive destinations in the Adriatic. In addition, this sum is the lowest calculated out of season – during peak season prices tend to skyrocket. Island Hvar is an excellent choice for those tourists who want partial seclusion and many sun hours.
